I am 38 years old and hail from Auburn, Maine. I work in Lewiston at Maine PBS in the Technology Department. We provide support for all things technical, including computers, phones and Broadcasting equipment. Many traditional pieces of Broadcast gear are being replaced by Computers. We see this in such applications as the way programs are edited. The traditional procedure was to edit from tape deck to tape deck in a linear fashion with a switcher, and other related equipment providing digital effects and titling. Currently nearly all programs are assembled using a computer editor which captures the video and audio to a hard drive. The computer handles all manipulation of the video including titles, special effects, etc. This is just one example of the way technology is changing the way we do things and even what our job duties are. This is the main reason I am taking CIS 101.
I enjoy many outdoor activities such as running, cross country skiing, or most any physical activity as long as its outdoors. Other interests include cars, music, animals, and woodworking.
I am entertaining the thought of becoming a candidate for a Computer Information Degree. At some point I may remodel my kitchen and bathroom. (don't hold your breath)
